Dr. Steidl is a great professor! Grading included: Three papers, one midterm, one final, and participation. The papers were really easy, but the midterm and final are what get you. Just pay attention in class, do the reading for each day, and you'll do fine! You can tell that she really loves her …more job and she is a happy person! less

I took her class and found it to be very interesting even though I am a science major. She is really good about trying to clarify concepts and very willing to help out if you are confused or struggling with something. The three papers were pretty easy. The midterm and final were tougher but will …more not be bad if you do all the readings and go to class less

Easy class if you do the readings and pay attention 75% of the time. Grades very nicely on the "papers" if you can call them that. More like personal rants. Tests are alright if you study a few hours the week before.

Great teacher, you can tell you is very passionate about what she teaches. Beware, does not like students hogging discussion time. Also can kind of get on a Marxist rant sometimes.

Dr. Steidl was very good at giving lectures. She has a very loud voice so falling asleep in that class could be considered a talent. Her tests are extremely difficult. Each question is about a paragraph and the answer choices are confusing. 50 of those in row and no matter how much you studied, you …more still feel braindead. She does scale them though. less

Energetic & easy to follow in class. Will answer any questions on the spot until you understand. Expects you to have already read the material, all lectures come straight from the theorists. Although the lectures seem easy, you have to work for your grade: to pass you have to have grasped an …more understanding of the material, not just parrot it back. less

Didn't care for the class at first but afterwards I see how the theories apply in real life. Dr. Steidl is great; clear, consistent grading. She answers questions and gives great examples. Tests are written but not hard if you take good notes and write down everything she says. I got out with a B …more w/o reading the book. Take ALL of her classes! less

If you study the notes the vocabulary, the tests are fairy easy. She gives 2 review questions at the end of each lectures to help you understand. There are 3 assignments that are simple and help cushion your grade. Two midterms and a final plus the assignments. Lectures are great and fairly …more interesting, great notes, only available in the class. less

Overall, Dr. Steidl is a teacher that likes to use her powerpoints in class with her lectures, but will NOT post them online. If you miss a lecture here and there, better make sure someone else got the notes! Cannot rely specifically on the textbook. Study guides are not her thing either usually.
