Flippin awesome teacher. This may be the first time I actually LIKE History, BUT tests are tough. There's too much we have to study for. If he broke the material down into two or three tests vs one GIANT exam I'd be a great deal happier. Otherwise, he teaches a great class. He has energy, knows his …more stuff and encourages questions. Real cool dude. less

He's a really good professor. He explains the concepts extremely well and is the most open-to-questions professor I have ever seen. The tests are somewhat challenging but not impossible or sadistic. And class is entertaining because he is always well-informed about the topic and is very interested …more in what he is talking about. I would recommend him. less

Hilarious dry humor! If you like listening rather than taking notes, he is your teacher

Dr. Ragland has very clear and strict guidelines. You can get away with not reading the text book, but you better read and thoroughly understand the Primary Documents. ATTEND PASS. It will prepare you for each test/quiz, and it saved my grade. He lectures, but it is always interesting, and he loves …more to make his students laugh at his dry humor. less

He is a really cool guy, and will help you with anything. Hitory at UAH is just super hard. He grades your papers really hard so you should really try. He is really flexible with due dates. Cool guy, hard class.

Read, study and listen = passing his class. I was totally surprised when he said only one person aced the midterm and then found out it was me. Just do the readings and follow his instructions and you'll pass.

Ragland can be hard to comprehend because he's brilliant & he speaks like you are equally as brilliant. He will always gladly help & explain things in a different way that is easier for you to grasp if you ask. Yes, he does a lot of reading but he makes up for it in other aspects. And he's gorgeous …more to boot. less

Great professor. Takes forever to get grades back to you... 1 map quiz, occasional reading quizzes, midterm, research paper, and final. He wants you to learn. Index cards used with data for midterm and final. He cares about his students and tries to make the class as beneficial as possible. …more Difficult to grasp all concepts but super helpful! less

He knows his stuff. This course is very information heavy but Mr. Ragland does a good job at making the class as stress free as possible.
