6 quizzes, midterm, term paper, and a final. Tests are very much based on the reading material, but lectures are not as important. Spent a lot of time on things that were not tested, and little time on some important material.

I did not like how he talked. A lot of his lectures were videos and he was very awkward to listen to. His tests were wordy and not well put together. 12 hours before the final, he posted the final review to blackboard.

Very obviously a new prof. His lectures were kinda disorganized. Midterm went really bad (average <50%) but he allowed us to redo for partial credit. 2nd exam all the q's were from the blackboard quizzes. 8 pg paper. Took forever to respond to emails. Also his view of history seems a little …more biased. You should definitely read the book. less

CHILL professor, one midterm and a final. If you're taking California History, it will be an easy class... stress free. Don't buy the books. At the end of the quarter, he has a book review which all the information is online. Attendance not mandatory. Don't take notes, he posts them on blackboard. …more EASY A. less

From the get-go, he informed us the class was outside of his specialty so I'm considering that. The class was a great learning experience, he geared it toward teaching us how to "teach history", which was beyond helpful. A lot of reading and primary source work, the final was a research …more proposal to get us familiar with grad-school expectations. less

Taking History 356, It is one of the most unusually classes to take because it is a part of history many wouldn't find interest in. But this professor was able to make it worthwhile to be in class with good reads and lectures. Research Proposal was awesome to do for a final.

Really great professor, he made the subject really interesting. The books were actually really good and it was not boring like the regular books you usually read in the classes. One take home midterm, one essay, one final and a few group forums to answer Easy A

Im big on punctuation but apparently some professors dont care. He showed up late almost everyday and during the final was 15 minutes late. Read only off of PowerPoints, (which were extremely lengthy), and had his back turned when doing so. No real homework but one book report due at end of quarter.

Most of the time he has no idea what he's talking about and says "um" and "uh" excessively. He's always clueless. He doesn't offer extra credit nor a study guide. Always reads off of his powerpoints that are infinitely long. Very boring, very dull.
