I loved taking this class with Jen! She is an amazing professor that truly cares about the students interests. She is super funny and relatively laid back, yet for the papers (as there are two papers and two outlines) she wants a strong argument; It IS philosophy. Would highly recommend taking her! …more No textbook to buy either or midterm/final! less

She's ok. 2 outlines and 2 papers and a couple in class writings. She procrastinates on grading and takes a while to give you feedback on the outlines which gives you little time to write a good essay. She did not give us our grade on our first essay so it was difficult to improve on the second …more essay. Lectures were boring but easy class. less

Jen is amazing. She really cares about her students and really makes you think about stuff. 5 in class short writings, 4 comments on readings (15 readings), 1 mini paper, a midterm and a final! Took her over summer so the schedule may vary. FYI: She made cookies for the midterm and the final!

LOVED her! She is so funny and so caring. Philosophy itself is a fun but sometimes difficult subject, but prof. Jen made the class so much better! I enjoyed every session, during her lectures and our group talks, and of course her fun emails. I would most definitely take her class again if I could!

Made us write a paper that was never graded. Extremely late at grading, graded majority of our work during finals week and has an odd grading scale. Although she was laid back and funny. 1 midterm, 1 paper, 10 in class writings and 4 reading comments.

Jen's a hilarious and great professor, laid back and is clear about grading. You need to do 4 comments on any of the 18 readings. 10 in class writings which is basically just be in attendance that day of class and you get the credit. Midterm is based on the readings up to that point. The final is a …more paper on one of the readings of your choice. less

Super laid back and funny. 2 comments on readings from blackboard, 4 in class comments on lecture, 1 midterm, and a paper(2-3 pages) but she makes the paper optional depending on how well you did on your first midterm.

Shes a great professor, and she cares a lot about her students. The class wasnt as easy as everyone said it was but, but it is do able. Random in class assignments so you have to be there. A paper, paper outline. responses to readings and the in class assignments are what the class consist of each …more is worth 25% of your grade. I would take again. less

I loved this class. As long as you show up and comment a couple of times you'll obtain an A. There are in class writing assignments, which are extremely easy as long as you have formulated an opinion on the topics, and then a midterm and final paper. 2 write ups are due by the end of the quarter …more and overall the class is very easy. less
