he is a horrible teacher. he doesnt understand what he is talking about and is like a lost puppy. he reminds me of a substitute teacher reading off the instructions that the real teacher left for him. he is not clear and is extremely boring. if you want to learn or just want to pass the class, dont …more take this professor. he should stop teaching!!!!!! less

ignore the negative comment, whoever wrote that is a lazy **** who should not be in college. Professor Nist is really understnading and has openn discussions to help you understand the context of the subject. You take notes in class, have review, and write easy essay questions for the exam. You …more just have to actively participate in class. less

The tests were way easier when you participated in class and at least skimmed the assigned reading. Nist is clear and helpful but leaves a lot up to the individual to decide. I was indifferent about philosophy at first but after his class, I rethink a number of things.

I took this class Fall2006, the class was super easy! I passed both exams with 100%. You only have to write one paper. He does have daily assignments, so make sure you attend both classes.

I took his class thinking I would hate it, since philosophy makes me crazy, but he is the best philosophy teacher I ever had. He is really good at helping you understand the text, and also helps you to think outside of the box. I highly recommend this class, he's a great teacher.

Had this professor for 190 also. Makes the class very interesting and is very unbiased. He always respects your opinion and keeps his out of the grading. Can't wait until he does Philosophy in Religion, it's his subject, haha.

Great Class! He knows his stuff and makes the class fun. Easy to get an A if you attend class, participate, turn in your homework and be ready to read!
