Very bizarre class. Lectures usually didn't hold interest. Assignments (journals) did not seem to relate to the class and took up way too much time. Nice man, but overall, was very frustrating.

good man, do the work and the class is pretty easy. you will be confused for the first couple of weeks but leave the class with something other than the usual college class BS. really nice guy. If you make comments in class he will love you

Crazy Jesuit man with a bunch of weird jokes. A lot of reading, 10 short papers and 2 graded conversations. Probably not the best class for a non-engineering major.

Father Phililp had a very unique personality in the class meeting, which could be a little bit dry sometimes. There were a lot of assignments, including 5 short papers based on 4 books, 2 graded conversations, 2 film reports and 1 presentation in the whole semester. He is a reasonable grader and …more expects solid dedication from his students. less

No tests but ridiculous amount of work. 4 papers, 2 film review worksheets, 2 fifteen minute face-to-face book conversations, a professional interview you do on someone not related to you/LMU, a 15 min presentation, and a boatload of handout discussions on brightspace. The fact that it's 4 units is …more no excuse. less
