I had high expectations for this class, "Motion Picture Analysis," thinking we'd watch more mainstream movies that haven't hit theaters yet, but for the most part all we've seen are mediocre indie films and old documentaries. The teacher himself acts kinda arrogant, but at least seems …more knowledgeable. less

He assumes you have a prior knowledge of film and critiquing film (and you should--film 210 is a pre-req). That said, he tries to use his "connections" and get good movies that aren't out yet, and sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. Thus, the films are hit or miss, but still a …more good class. less

Disappointing class. Watched thirteen films and only three were particularly good. He's a documentary filmmaker so he showed a lot of documentaries, which is fine, but fictional film is worth exploring, too. Easy class, Greene is a nice guy, but I just hoped for better and more exciting films.

Saw some good films in here, not as amny new releases as I'd hope for. He is very cocky about being a filmmaker, and a director, and a critic, and all of the other stuff he claims he is. Very one-sided in opinions about film. Assumes we already know what analysis is. Learned nothing- just saw films …more and did 2 papers. less

Ray is cocky and likes to hear himself talk. He constantly mentions he is a filmmaker when he has guest filmmakers. Its cool to see films before they come out but we saw few and far between of those. He is a little hard when it comes to grading papers.

class was easy but wouldn't take a class from him again. he was very cocky and rude to all the guests he brought in. he can go all night talking about himself. and movies that were shown were either a hit or miss. he grades papers more on how well he thinks you write.

Super pretentious, but if you can get pass that he's not that bad. We saw a few movies that weren't out in theaters yet which was cool but we watched mostly indie movies. He also had a few guest speakers. You have discussion board posts after each movie and two papers. He likes those that …more participate. less

Super chill class if you want an easy A. Grade consists of: participation in classroom discussions, a short paragraph or two on blackboard each week of what we watched in class, two 3-4 page essays, and a take home final. Ray tends to go off on tangents unrelated to the films watched in class. But …more the films that he screens are usually very engaging less
