Professor Stewart's class is awesome. It's really laid back, and she is very clear about what she expects from you. As long as you study a little before each test you're totally fine. Also, she uses weekly quizzes, so there is never a lot to study at one time. Her midterm and final aren't hard …more either - not cumulative. less

Don't take Stewart. She's rigid on attendance and treats you like a child in this respect (i.e. get a doctor's note to prove you're sick). Quizzes every Friday. She grades oral quizzes very hard and grades class participation very hard. If you get stuck taking her, participate until you annoy the …more people around you and pretend like you love animals. less

Honestly, the class was pretty hard. Participation is key and so is attendance. Sit in the middle of the class and she will like you more. Seriously. While she may seem abrasive and uninterested in class and emails, i suggest going in to her office hours and talking to her. She is way helpful is a …more one on one situation. But if you can... avoid less

To her, attendance and hw (including forced purchase of useless online pkg) > learning. I was a business mjr. Since I was in Service I had to miss every other Friday or so (so 1/8 class) to meet with a non-profit. She said I would get 0s on the quizzes. So I dropped, studied MY way & tested out of …more both 152 and 251 with a challenge exam. AVOID less

Stewart is an energetic and likable teacher, but her teaching is not anything special. If you have no prior knowledge of Spanish, the class will be difficult.

I would definitely avoid at all costs. She takes attendance, including marking if you are tardy or not (if you are late, you get points taken from your grade). She spends about 2 minutes teaching the lesson, then expects you to somehow know the material you covered. Honestly, the class was …more do-able (hard!), but a painful experience the whole time. less

Profa Stewart is awesome! Her summer class is only 4 weeks, and covers a TON of material, but she is very down to earth! She offers an extra credit assignment, and homework is reasonable. Her tests actually test APPLICABLE Spanish knowledge!Lots of people complain about attendance and …more participation, but this is college people, what did you expect? less

She's very "by the book" when it comes to grading and her class is pretty tough, but it's a language. She makes everything as clear as possible and likes to make sure everyone knows what's going on. I loved having her for the semester. She might be my favorite Pepperdine prof so far.

I like her as a person but generally, please avoid this class as much as possible. She's a hard grader and genuinely picks favorites. She's a good person but not the best teacher when it comes to how she treats students fairly. I would definitely try to switch out as soon as possible if you get …more her. Go see her if you do have her during office hours less
