Film 111 with Dr. Detweiler is the best class I took at Pepperdine. Even if you're not a film studies student, I highly recommend this course. He's such a great communicator who knows how to infuse entertainment with learning. He's also well-connected, and he brings prominent guests to almost every …more class. Dr. D is the man! less

He is the most entertaining and well-knowledge professor in this campus. His insights are great, he knows the material and understands the industry.

A horrible film teacher.... So full of himself and his lost dreams of becoming a big time movie producer that is class is horribly unenjoyable. If you wany to hear a man brag about his sad career and receive bad grades take this class

If you have the opportunity to take this class, do it. Though it may seem unnecessary and pointless in the beginning, it was probably the best class I've ever taken. He's dorky at times, but it's such an insightful and impacting class.

Lectures were more fun than the films we watched. Great professor, especially if you get to know him personally. Short weekly reading assignments (write a 50-100 word response - how you felt about the reading). Overall a great experience. Would recommend to anyone who wants a fun, easy class to …more fulfill GE fine arts credit. less
