Really be able to write!!! The tests are all essay. She grades with the bell curve which can be bad because a 96% can be an A- if there are really good writes (English majors) in the class.

great! this was by far my favourite humanities class out of all, probably one of my favourite classes at pepperdine. dr. frye focuses on the art and culture and applies all of the history to how it affects us today. she isn't caught up in all the stupid details of history. instead, she challenges …more us to interpret history and art for ourselves. less

apathetic and flat. drones on and on, very boring. Grades difficult and was rude to the class. I switched out after two classes. Assigns a ton of work - five books - for her class. Pick another seminar.

I had Professor Frye for my English 101 class and it honestly was my favorite class my freshman year. She has a passion for teaching English and shows interest for each student. Her quizes are fair and she grades reasonably. Has a sense of humor and makes the class enjoyable. Highly recommend her …more for English! less

Pretty easy class. She grades essays very fairly and offers 10% extra credit on each one. Other than the essays, there are daily quizzes on the readings but they are really easy if you actually do the reading. Overall great professor!

Dr. Frye was awesome. Inventing Modern Childhood was so enjoyable and really does help freshman get ready for the next 4 years by analyzing great writings and films. She keeps it super interesting. Favorite teacher I've ever had. Also, not too easy, not too hard. Perfect prof. If you try an A is …more easy and you will want to try with a prof like her! less

She is very demure and a great teacher. You won't be disappointed if you take her freshman seminar Inventing Modern Childhood because its not very difficult if you do exactly what she says.

Professor Frye is a great professor. She wants to help you. She's lenient. She'll let you turn things in a BIT late with a good reason. Her essay topics were okay but they're easy. She'll sit down and help you. Checked in on me when I missed class for a few days. Helped catch me up. Easy final. …more Portfolio. Fun reading. Don't need textbooks. less

Dr Frye is a great English professor, but she does tend to grade the essays pretty harshly. Participation matters a great deal in this class. MAKE SURE TO READ! Her reading quizzes can be very detailed. She is definitely a nice professor not out to get you, but her class can get boring. Especially …more during discussions. Overall, I enjoyed the class. less
