Professor Cumming's class was one of my worst experiences at Pepperdine so far. His lecture is completely scripted and drags on for way too long! He doesn't allow room for open class discussion, yet counts for participation. He TRIES to be funny. Not a tough grader on writing assignments; however, …more his midterm and final are fairly challenging. less

Dr. Cumming does not deserve a bad rating, he is truly amazing! As long as you pay attention & take notes, you will pass the class. I didn't use the textbook but I know students that did. He is funny, has a lot of knowledge, & truly cares for the all of his students. He has been one of my …more favorite professors & he's nice to look at. less

Cumming has a way of being sarcastic and funny while also discussing deep topics that matter to the course. He is very welcoming to opposing viewpoints and encourages discussion with peers. (Also, you won't regret going to office hours!!)

His lectures are painfully boring and his exams are not only way too challenging for REL101 but don't make sense. Take someone else.
