Amy delivers fast lectures, is a tough grader, and seems to care a great deal about teaching her web site http://online.sfsu.edu/~sueyoshi/ will tell you more about her interest and background. She is very articulate and totally comitted to helping her students understand history and society in …more general in a new way. Best class in a long time! less

Amy is an incredible lecturer and keeps control of class discussions, making sure that everyone gets a chance to speak. She created a great camaraderie in our class. Definitely recommend!

Had two graduate seminars with Amy and she was awesome all-around. She is a skilled facilitator, and though the reading load is quite heavy (in my seminars we read a book a week), the discussions are always fruitful. I would recommend anyone interested in race and/or sexuality/queerness to take a …more class with Amy. Great professor and mentor. less
