Great discussions, great subject matter! Really learned a lot this semester, and was surprised how engaging and often fun the classes were. Enjoyed all the readings too! Really good teacher- super fair and helpful. Take it even if you aren't into Literature. We analyze Jimi Hendrix, Bob D, Bessie …more Smith, and some really rad books and poems. less

Expect to read +100 pages for each class. Took as a core (not major) and put way too much work into this class. Go to class, takes attendance. Read about +7 books the whole semester. Do not use phone in class, you WILL get into trouble. If he doesn't like what you have to say, expect a low grade.

Crazy smart and really cares about his students. Not the easiest grader, but gives you lots of feedback on how you can improve your writing. Class discussions are fun and open. A decent amount of reading but you learn a lot.
