He's a great professor. You will not be overloaded with work. Dr. Wineland is super friendly to all of his students as well. He also makes great pizza.

Responses to questions and concerns took weeks. I received no written feedback on homework/quizzes/discussion board posts, so I didn't know what to study or improve. He has credential in the subject, but the course was entirely dependent upon the textbook (lots of reading). Quizzes were very …more difficult and irrelevant to the textbook and homework. less

He makes us watch online videos instead of teaching in class. The video lectures have absolutely nothing to do with what is on the quizzes. He babbles on about random things instead of teaching in class. He gives a ton of busy work but doesn't give grades for it for a very long time. Not accessible …more outside of class whatsoever. less

The course I took from Professor Wineland was described as a hybrid course: 50% in-class lectures, 50% online; however, I would describe it as 10% in-class lectures and 90% online. Since he put recorded lectures on Youtube for our disposal, he figured he wouldn't have to do anything in class, …more resulting in constant rambling and off-topic discussions less

Dr. Wineland is great guy and cares for his students. It is nearly impossible to get anything less than an "A" in one of his classes-as long as you do the work. I got through without buying text books (did buy the novels). Also the assignments are many, but easy. (Videos rarely correspond …more to the assignment questions though. less

He's so funny. It's not hard at all if you read the syllabus and just do what it says. If you don't pay attention it's your own fault. I loved going on all the trips

He gets off topic a lot, but that's usually the students' fault-- they don't want to learn so they will do anything they can to redirect him. He's very knowledgeable and fun to be around. Just show up, listen, read, and you'll pass.

Doesn't teach, but lectures every class. All work is online, including tests, quizzes, & homework. Most test/quiz questions are not taught & almost seem random. Lectures can get off topic easily.
