Susan being helpful makes up for any shortcomings. The class was fun, she likes what she does, and she encourages your creativity. Watch for mood swings.

I was disappointed with this class. I learned a little about using Illustrator, but Susan was not a very good teacher. She was flaky, emotional, and seemed to know less about Illustrator (and the Mac she was running it on) than I did. A major disappointment.

This class was awful. I came in trying to learn more about lighting and came out with a terrible taste in my mouth. She knew very little about the equipment (especially when she was trying to demonstrate how to use it) and knew only basic information about Final Cut Pro. When asked for help, she …more blew several of the students off. less

Susan is very nice and helpful. The first half of the semester is dedicated to photography, the second half consisted of 3 video projects, and there is one test. She is very understanding on deadlines and is happy to extend them when needed. She checks Oncourse often so contact her there. Susan is …more a great teacher and highly recommended! less

the semester is almost over and we've spent a total of 1 day talking about lighting (on which the course is supposed to be focused). Maybe I have the wrong impression but sometimes her tone seemed unnecessarily harsh and condescending. Good thing she's an easy grader or this course would have been …more painful. less

Susan is a very unhelpful. She blows all her students off when she is asked a question. She is very condescending and rude. If she doesn't like some work that you did she will make comments about how bad it is. Like I said she is very unhelpful and rude. Not to mention that your projects are HUGE …more and only out of 10 points less

Digital Storytelling sounded like a pointless class, and with this lady teaching it, it was the worst. She blabs on for almost 3 hours about stuff we learned in middle school. Unfortunately its a required class and she is the only one who teaches it. If you are thinking about taking one of her …more optional classes, dont. Save yourself from the pain. less

Her lectures are long and nonsensical. For someone who supposedly knows a lot about digital storytelling she didn't seem to understand basic fundamentals. She was also incredibly rude. Avoid non-mandatory classes with her.

This woman seems to be a good person, but she is terrible at teaching. This is a 3 hour long class and it is all padded with useless info that you should already know from grade school. She spends more time reading word for word what is due next week when you can easily just read it. She is …more scratching for things to talk about half the time. less
