It was clear that she knew the material, but her presentation of it to the class was very unclear. She seemed very scatterbrained and I think that if I didn't have calculus in high school, I would not have passed her class.

Some of her teaching methods are very different from what I'm used to seeing in Math. She made up one concept and taught it to us and a friend of mine failed because of it. She's very funny though, and has a passion for Math. Fairly easy class when taken by her.

Her discrete math class is scarier than Lee Harvey Oswald with a sniper rifle. The material learned is insanely tedious and would be hard enough to learn even if she did show up to her class/office hours often enough. The program "Maple" (aka: all we do in here) is awful. Stay clear of the dead …more horse that is Discrete and if it comes close beat it. less

Worst class I've taken so far, although she was willing to help you the best way possible. Her examples are as weird as her drawings, she seems way too excited for math. Yuck. Oh by the way most of the study guide will be on the test, just a few differences. Good luck!

Hated this class. Worst teacher I've had at Bellarmine. Absolutely no help inside or outside of class because she doesn't know what she's talking about. All she does in class is write proofs that the book has already done better then confuses herself midway through, so expect to stay over while …more she fixes her numerous mistakes. less

Her heart is in the right place, but this class was a mess to say the least. The course title says Discrete Math, but it's more akin to a class in Maple (i.e. 95% of what you do). She takes forever to grade tests and she cancels class all the time. The textbook is cheap but essentially worthless …more for instruction. Getting a good grade isn't too hard. less

Terrible teaching style. Knows a lot but can't deliver. Very lazy. Do not take her class if you can because she will fail you.

Giving this grade to a Bellarmine professor saddens my heart, but this must be said. If you get Zielinski try to switch, you'll thank me. I had her and she degraded me on tests. She would put comments like "can't you use your brain?" and "I taught you to use your brain in class" as feedback if you …more use your calculator on a test. Do Not Take! less

Dr. Zielinski often cancels class and expects students to still work on the homework. Her lectures are dry and boring. It's tempting to fall asleep during them. She doesn't explain things well, either.
