He is very interested in what he is teaching, which in turn helps the students understand the content better. There is a lot of reading, but there is a lot of reading in any history class. Usually has a pop-quiz on the reading the first class day of the week. Overall was very pleased with his …more method of teaching. less

First of all, he makes you read 80 pages a night & hardly talks about it in class, then you have pop quizzes(every Wednesday)on the reading (usually not hard if you read though). The exams are graded harshly, I studied for 12 hours & only squeezed by with an 81. this man has the incredible gift of …more making an interesting topic incredibly boring. less

Just don't do it. Yes, he has a funny name, but I have now learned that that is not a good professor picking strategy.

A very friendly and personal instructor. However, he struggles as a lecturer in his speech and engagement. He fails to post assignments and readings in advance for students. He makes the course a little interesting, but needs more experience as a professor.

Your first mistake is taking a world empire class (PERIOD). If you are not a History buff & you want an A, you must attend EVERY class & take notes the entire 1:15 min. You must read & RE-READ ALL the assigned readings BEFORE class. The guy is EXTREMELY smart but the class is tough and he talks …more non-stop. PLUS He gets pissed if u don't participate. less

Do not take him. He is a nice man but can't teach. He struggles in lecture and their is a ton of reading. He has a midterm and a final. Both are graded harshly because he expects you to remember everything covered in class. We also wrote one paper which he was not clear about the topic at all. Just …more dont take him. less

He once forgot to post a PDF reading and sent the class a snarky email berating us for not catching his error. Lectures entire period (runs over time frequently). Assigns 50-80 pages of dense readings per night but does not discuss them. Randomly stops lecture to ask trivia questions. Gets pissed …more if no one answers quickly enough. Avoid if possible. less

DO NOT TAKE HIM. You will read 80 pages a night just for a stupid random pop quiz. He grades hard too on his exams, though they aren't crazy hard, you have to study a lot of material to cover what he might question you on. It is really hard to make a good grade in this class. I studied for 12 hours …more and sill made Cs on his tests. Take someone else. less
