This teacher makes class very interesting. She is very funny even though she is not always trying to be. She explains things well and give you many oppertunities to for a good grade. I LOVED IT!

Uses power points every day for her lectures, takes attendance, does not assign textbook reading (although it is pretty helpful), and she assigns two page papers about twice a week but they are fairly easy. She is very helpful and loves to make life easier for you if you put in effort. Come to …more class and take good notes, you should be fine! less

Mrs. Schultz is probably the most kind, genuinely caring professor I've had so far at Appalachian. She's always very clear on her expectations, and as long as you put forth the effort, she's willing to work with you on anything else. Laid back, and easy to get along with. In short, if you have the …more chance, take her. You won't regret it! less

Firt year seminar professor. Very nice, sweet person. One time, she brought cookies in to give to the class just because she felt like it. The only hard part about this class was the fast paced reading that was assigned. At least 4-5 chapters of complex reading every other day, plus journal …more entries. I enjoyed the class though & she was so nice! less

I had her for freshman seminar and she was an awesome lady and teacher. Just beware of the group project at the end because she grades it pretty tough.

I had Dr. Laughlin-Schultz for a class when i was a sophmore..very good....I also had another class with here this semester...it was about John Brown... the abolitionist...it was a really great class. There is a lot of reading and the class is mostly discussion and papers..but they're clear and …more she is very helpful. Great professor to take. less

I loved her class; she was easily my favorite prof this semester. 10 primary source analyses, 1 annotated bib, 3 tests, and a final paper-challenging but she makes it exciting to learn. If you have the opportunity, you should take her; you won't regret it!!!

I really enjoyed this freshman seminar. You have to keep up with journal entries which can be hard, but in the end I really learned a lot from the class. She's really nice and I would go visit her if I were still at App!
