New professor to app state as of fall 2014. She makes you buy about 12 novels and expects you to pay to see a bunch of movies. Not too difficult but she's a bit boring and gives a lot of work. Gives just a week or so to read novels. I wouldn't take unless you love analyzing boring books.

We had like 6 books to read but 3 of them were plays, so it was manageable, and Cyrano de Bergerac was awesome! I went to a few office hours and she was always helpful which was nice.

She is a super sweet person and a new professor here at App. It's obvious that she cares a lot about French culture, and her enthusiasm shows in her lectures. This class is primarily discussion based on booksplays she has you read outside of class. Most of the reading was enjoyable, and she gave us …more enough time to read the material. Good gen ed! less

She really does care about her students. She is extremely understanding and reassures you that it's a class not the rest of your life and tells you not to stress. Homework and attendance are your most important grades. She obviously loves her job and students and really wants everyone to do well …more and learn the material. Best French professor! less

The class in itself was not hard. However, she doesn't listen to what the class struggles with and will push on even after multiple students express having a hard time. She is no help outside of class because she has no good office hours and will refuse to meet you at other times outside of them. & …more Be prepared to shell out $ for the foreign films! less

There are so many assignments for this class it's not even funny. I feel that the redactions are a bit too demanding--I could barely get a page and had to make things up. Writing an entire essay in French is really hard. I feel like the French classes at ASU in general are a bit demanding (German …more is nowhere near this bad). less

One of the worst professors I have had. Gives homework on things you cover NEXT class period. Don't expect any days off, at all. The homework is not helpful and I understand French Immersion, but when a whole class doesn't understand what you're saying, maybe help them a little. Lectures don't …more teach much either. less

This was WAY too hard for a beginning French class. There is so much work, including an online assignment where we recorded ourselves speaking and have TWELVE MINUTES to verbally respond to SIX QUESTIONS. Factoring in the possibility of slow internet it was just ridiculous. Willing to help outside …more of class but the assignments are just too damn hard less

French was really hard for me, and I almost failed, but Dr. Gardner warned me of my situation and helped me bring my grade up. She's not easy, but learning French isn't easy. She's willing to work with the class. You will learn French taking this course. Expect to speak a lot of French. More oral, …more less written. less

This class was taught entirely in french, and if you aren't very good at understanding french, it gets touch at times. She gives homework every day, but it really helps you learn the material better. You have to study for the tests and participate in class. It isn't an easy class, but you can get a …more good grade if you put in the effort. less
