Every day we had group discussion, and our group never talked about the reading. She gives a brief summary at the end of class and that's usually enough to get the idea of the story. Papers aren't too strictly graded, but the tests I highly recommend studying for them. The first one catches …more everyone off guard. less

Such a sweet lady. Class is easy, and she has a real passion for what she teaches. Some of the reading is boring, but as long as you listen to her summarize it, you should be fine. Quizzes are easy; she drops the lowest three grades and only gives like, four quizzes. I would recommend her!

Awesome. I loved her she is charismatic and passionate about what she is teaching. Her class is really easy, but you still get something out of it. She picks only readings that are fairly interesting (as interesting as early brit lit can be). I definitely recommend her.

Easy class, and she always makes sure that you understand the material before quizs, tests, and papers.

Gulley is super understanding and fun! I love her. She is somewhat bad about canceling class (as in does it often), and she was amazing at getting everyone off topic, but we had a bunch of great conversations and learned the works required.

Good overall teacher. Very scatterbrained. The exam reviews ere worthless. She is slow at grading everything. Class is fun, but you gt off topic easily. Overall if you want a fun class with a lot of reading and a scatterbrained teacher. Then go for it!!

Dr.Gulley was the greatest English teacher i've ever had. She's really helpful and is there when you need to ask the simple questions. Attendance is mandatory, but you need to go anyway..she teaches right out of the book.. just pay attention and understand the readings.

Pretty easy. A midterm, final, & a couple of announced quizzes, so you have to read. Takes attendance randomly. She can be kind of scatterbrained and has a hard time getting the class involved in group discussions, but with a class like British Lit, I don't blame her. I don't recommend her for …more English majors or anyone looking for a serious class. less

I had this professor two different courses during separate years. As everyone else says, she is scatterbrained. All of the class is discussion and you hardly learn anything. Her literary theory class is merely discussion, with NO learning involved. If you want to be lost in literary theory, she is …more the one to take! Quizzes are picky. less
