Dr. Fournier is a native french speaker, so his class is the real deal. He doesn't "lower the bar" for lazy students, there is homework each class. To learn a language however, this is a reasonable expectation . If you did not study, get ready to be embarrassed when he calls on you! Could be …more less elitistcondescending but he's a great professor. less

It seems like he expects everyone to understand everything the first time through, and if you mess up, he'll make you feel stupid. I have never felt so humiliated in a first level language course, and never wanted to skip a class more. If I didn't need a language, I would have dropped the first …more week. less

Fournier is absolutely brilliant. Be prepared to work to get a decent grade, but worth it because of how much you'll learn. Bonus: total babe.

Fournier is a really great professor. He's tough but he cares about his students. He tries to immerse his students in the language and get you thinking in French rather than translating into English. He's a very good professor, and pushes you to do your best.

He's absolutely fantastic. I've taken a few years of french before this but I definitely understood things better this time. I'm planning on taking another class with him in the spring. He definitely knows what he's talking about and he's pretty nice, too.

Can be confusing, can also keep you over a couple minutes so keep this in mind if you've got class across campus after. When I took it you also had to recite a French poem from memory. What is the point of the memorization? :

This is a quality course. If you are serious about learning French, Dr. Fournier is a perfectionist and he is an excellent professor. The test expectations are clear cut, the material is detailed, and he truly cares about his students. The man deserves a lot of respect, and... he is SO fun to …more look at. less

Fournier is great. He really cares about his students and is more than willing to help you when you need it. There's homework almost every night, but it's not a lot and it really does help you learn. If you're willing to make an effort, you'll do fine in his class.

Overall he's a really good teacher and he will help you when you need it, but it is just not an easy class. INTENSIVE grammar review is an appropriate class title

I haven't even had him yet, I'm just wondering why he doesn't have a full chili pepper. I literally just filled this out for the sole reason of giving him a "yeah" hotness rating.
