Don't take this professor if you want to make an easy A for a Gen Ed class. You will read so much and try to memorize 50 pieces of art and only be quizzed on 4. I don't know if it is just me, but I hate this class because his preference on art is so strange and the way he says things about is just …more stupid. Have fun with the class...... less

The class assignments are pretty easy and he gives plenty of graded work, but the quizes are ridiculous. noone can memorize that much work. especially when you just tried to memorize 30 works of art, got quized on 5 and didnt remember any of those 5.

If you want an easy class do not take him. He is rediculous with his work and quizes. He doesn't give out tests but his quizes will drive you crazy. He makes you memorize all the pieces of art in the book from 3 chapters (it can add up to be 50) but on the quiz only puts up 5, so basically you have …more to memorize the other 45 for nothing. less

Fairly easy class. Joe works well with the students and explains everything in great detail. He can be strict, but only if you give him a reason too. Overall the class is a simple structure and involves multiple projects that he give the class more than enough time to complete. The quizzes are …more exceptionally easy. They involve pictures and dates. less

Although Joe is a very nice guy, teaching is definitely NOT his calling. There is a LOT of reading, and if you don't do the reading, you won't do well on the quizzes. Typically, his lectures are boring and non-helpful. The exams are cumulative, so keep up with your papers. There are also a LOT of …more comprehensive writing assignments. less

1.Class is mandatory 2.You have to pay attention to his lectures 3.You do have to memorize art pieces-BUT MEMORIZING 50 IS NOT TRUE-about 15 each quiz. & you are quized on 5. 4.He is open to what you have to say as long as you can support your ideas. 5.Overall this was one of my easiest classes all …more I had to was go and form my own opinions less

Joe is a super nice guy! While the topic of art might not appeal to some people, he does his best to get his students motivated. The quizzes were not hard and I actually enjoyed the writing assignments. The video project was also a lot of fun! I definitely recommend his Into to Visual Arts class. …more It was chill and enjoyable. No regrets. less

Very helpful and wants to see students succeed. The quizzes are not difficult if you were awake during lectures (which can be difficult sometimes). The writing assignments were interesting and not difficult. Really interesting class.

Joe is a pretty cool guy I guess... sort of. But seriously, this class is so stupid. He acts like everyone is incompetent about art and the class shouldn't be mandatory but it is. It's just a gen ed class really. His quizzes are short but require WAY too much study time. Not worth the time to take. …more It's easy but you have to work hard. I say avoid. less
