He is ridiculous. He expects heavy workloads to be completed with a couple of days, several revisions of papers that you wont get back until a couple of days before next deadline. and overall his grading system is horrible. its satisfactory, therefore you have no idea what youre making in the …more class. avoid him. less

Mr. Pope is overall not a bad professor. If you participate in class and ask him for his opinions on revision papers then you will do fine. However, he can have a bit of a temper and he isn't good about returning grades in an orderly fashion. If you get this professor, don't freak out. You can …more definitely get an A in this class. less

This class is the absolute hardest class that I have ever taken. I have spent many hours, days and late nights stressing the crying from frustration over this class. But take heart, if you have his class you can make it through. He expects a lot, this is not a class to slack off in! Go to class and …more turn things in on time, and you will survive! less

He is a nice guy but unfortunately very frustrating. Only two grades for the entire semester were posted by final exam day. He is not very clear about assignments. Expect very, very many busy-work type assignments. Not a very hard class but expect a lot of time-consuming work

Hardest class I've ever taken. The instructions for assignments are very specific, where he will give you what he's looking for in your work and then tell you it's completely wrong at conferences. Very frustrating all of the time, and you can never seem to please him with the work you've done. I do …more not recommend him what so ever. less

Pope is a nice guy, but seriously unclear. The whole semester is a fair amount of work, however he assigns 4 projects due within the last two weeks of school, most of which within finals week. Don't take this class if you have poor time management and cant handle four projects at once. No grades …more are given all semester either. Would not recommend. less

Didn't feel like I was in an English class, in a bad way. Every assignment seemed useless and pointless. Feel like I didn't learn anything that helped me.

I don't look before I cross the street when I'm going to this class because I hope I'll get hit by a car before I get there.

Pope assigns 4 main projects which compose the grades, 3 papers, and a group project. However, he grade very harshly and never gives you a certain grade, therefore you never know how you're doing in the class. Your final project is in a group and its almost impossible to get everything he wants to …more his standards. Take another professor. less

Dropped class because he doesn't set clear expectations, gets frustrated easily when students don't understand the multiple assignments. Wasn't helpful and didn't give back any grades on any of the assignments so your grade is a mystery (plus he's a hard grader so you could be doing poorly and not …more know). less
