Ivey was a great professor but don't expect her to bump your grade up, no matter how much you participate or if you turn in extra credit. Her lectures were usually pretty interesting but her tests are pretty difficult. The questions are sometimes worded weird so you end up confused. Overall it was …more a good class. less

Doesn't use the book, just talks all of class. Wouldn't call it a lecture- she really just babbles. Maybe she'll mention something useful in the middle of talking about something irrelevant. Taking notes in this class really didn't help or reading the book. Test questions are vague and confusing. …more Only grades were 4 tests and maybe participation. less

For this to be an intro class, it's extremely difficult. Take this class if you want to hate your life every second you're there. Lectures are a rampage of useless information. She does drop a test grade on the plus side though.

Kristin is a very helpful professor. Her quizzes are short answer and tests are all multiple choice. She can get off on tangents and talks about herself in third person, but she almost always has a point to her stories, so just hang in there. I would take her again. She is very motherly but is also …more strict about her grading. less

Ivey is awesome and so sweet! She was one of the easiest professors i have had! She does go off topic a lot but most of the things we discussed were interesting. I recommend taking her for sure. There was a group presentation but it was the easiest group project I have ever done!

Kristin is really good at not really telling you anything useful at any point. She rambles constantly and maybe includes something helpful once in a blue moon, and is incredibly bad at clarifying things. She's also beyond bad at talking about sexuality/gender topics, which isn't good for a soc …more class where at least 2 units are on sexuality/gender. less

Professor Ivey was a good teacher but her class isn't easy. The discussions are interesting but her quizzes or tests will usually include a question on something she barely mentioned but nothing on a topic she talked about for 45 minutes. She is very nice and intelligent but you definitely have to …more work for your grade. less

A lot of studying must go into her tests but especially her quizzes (they are short answer, tests are multiple choice). She is the nicest lady ever and the class was very interesting. If you do not show up to her class you missed half the lecture even if you get a friend's notes because she rambles!

She was so kind and readily available outside of class. It wasn't the easiest GenEd, however. The quizzes(short answer) and tests(multiple choice) are hard, so you have to study for a good grade. One group project at the end which is a big part of the final grade. Gives a lot of info outside of …more powerpoint so don't miss. 2 extra credit opportunities less
