Lots of reading and questions but overall a good class. He's a nice guy and definitely knows his stuff. The class suffers though because sixteenth Spanish literature is not very exciting.

An average prof at best. If there is an alternative route, chose it unless you just enjoy pulling out your hair in sheer boredom. Nice, but speaks too softly and doesn't do anything for motivating the class to speak.

I was very disappointed in the class. I expect a lot more from a part time dean; he did not manage to hold my interest at all. If you have to take this class do the Web CT stuff, its pointless, but he does grade it but don't count on getting it back until the end of the semester. Everything is …more repetitive. Study for the tests its a passable class. less

Lit: Class is a little dull, but the major problem is the grading scale. Goetz does not hand back grades at all, and when my class submitted drafts of the final paper (worth 45% of the total grade), the class average was a D+. Comprehensive final with no midterm. I have a 3.8 GPA and think I will …more have to retake this class. less

Pretty tough class if you don't pay attention and take notes (Spanish grammar isn't exactly easy). Need to study and show up. Tests are pretty hard but I don't think it's difficult to get an A/B. Daily homework problems from the book, checks each month or so. Nice guy, class can be pretty dry at …more times and so can he. Not a bad class overall. less

The tests are easy because he gives a study guide. He lets you redo papers in order to receive better grades. Really dull but really easy class.

this is quite possibly the dullest more boring class/teacher that i have ever had in college. he speaks at a barely audible tone, and all he does every day is review straight out of the textbook, but you still have to go to class because he has a strict attendance policy. tests are fairly easy if …more you have a grasp on spanish, but don't learn in clas less

Very hard grading policies (7 point grading scale) and attendance policy (can only miss 2 classes then deducts 2 points from your final grade for every class missed. Only goes over examples in class and never really teaches the language. A very nice man, but I know you will likely get better grades …more with other professors that teach the course. less

Boring, boring, boring. I've never wanted to take a nap more than I do in Goetz's class. Attendance is mandatory and his tests are pretty difficult. Study and pay attention and you should do fine.
