Mr. Elaver has made me want to change my major to Product Design. He is an amazing teacher. He is very clear and the assignments are interesting. There are a lot of reading assignments.

Good teacher! Not an easy class, but it's a lot of fun if you enjoy being creative and thinking outside the box. Very strict attendance policy, but just go to class and it's not tough. Do the readings as well, plenty of pop quizzes. Reasonable teacher and I learned a lot. Take him over other …more Product Design teachers for sure. less

As long as you're able to keep up with the work, this class moves along just fine. The readings are pretty lame. The projects are very structured and everyone moves at the exact same pace doing the exact same steps along the way. Expect required/checked/graded process work and a fairly involved …more class critique for each project. less

Very interesting design class. Captures attention but work is overwhelming at end of semester. Not an easy grade, but do-able.

Not an easy class but Elaver is a good teacher. He's a pretty interesting guy with everything he has done. I suck at product design but he was helpful. Expect to do a lot of projects and put some effort into the class.

Class is very hard if you don't have an interest in product design. Study hard and memorize alot!! Tests are long. Projects are also time consuming. Also, show up on time.

Class has a very large workload, worked more on this summer school class than I did entire spring semester. gota B- from at least 50 hrs work. Must have spent at least 2-3 hrs each night on homework. He doesn't realize you have class next day. No textbook, all online daily reading in a tiny font, …more followed by a very difficult quiz on obscure stuff less

Tests hard. Pay attention to group presentations. If you've every taken art history then you know what his famous people test will be like. A lot of homework. Reading is painful. All online reading (to save paper), from scanned in text. Quizzes a lot of the reading. Group work can be fun if good …more group. Group research project. less

Richard is a GREAT teacher. I have had him for two classes now. He knows a lot about inustrial design and gives great advice. He is the fairest teacher I have ever had. He does expect a lot from you though. So dont take his classes for an easy a. take them if you actually want to learn.
