She is an excellent teacher. She really cares about how well you are doing in the course and provides a lot of extra credit opportunities. Her methods of teaching are good because she speaks german throughout the class, so you are forced to learn it. Tests are a bit challenging, but not …more overwhelming. One of the best language teachers I ever had. less

I've had Dr. Sheffer for German 104 and 230. 104 was breeze and I got a B+ cause I never showed up for class. She's really easy and likes if you participate. For the literature class, make sure you talk a lot and go to all the classes. Most your grade comes from the writing assignments. I would …more focus my attention on that. less

This woman has no business being in front of a class. This was a sophomore level class, but she treated it as though it were a grad-level literature study. Could have covered everything in 3 weeks - took 15. No real guidance for project. No rubric. Won't tell you what she wants but will tell …more you that your ideas aren't good enough. WORST EVER less

Dr. Sheffer is a lot of fun if you have thick skin. If not, she comes across as mean and inconsiderate. That being said, as long as you talk a lot in class, you'll do fine. Also, she thinks every class is a literature class no matter what.

If you want an easy class to fill your literature requirement, this is not the class for you. However, Dr. Sheffer is an amazing teacher and her class is a ball. So long as your ready to put in the work to do as best as you possibly can and participate in class, you'll be okay.

Dr. Sheffer is the best. She really cares about her student and educating them. Her use of german in class forces you to pay attention and learn. She has a great way of explaining things in a way students understand without reverting to English. She is incredibly understanding of difficulties …more students may be facing and is more than willing to help. less
