She's a doctoral student with an undergraduate degree in math, so it's not surprising that she's very organized. She's knowledgeable about the material being covered, but flounders on off-topic questions. She's not very dynamic. Workload assigned is quite reasonable; she covers the texts so …more closely that you don't have to bother reading the text. less

This class was dull, boring, and relatively worthless. I'm pretty sure she gives everyone a B regardless of the quality of your work. Relatively nice lady, although slightly awkward.

Good proph - she is very well organized and teaches in a very systematic manner. Good lecturer and likes to make class discussion. She covers the texts so well that you dont even need to read them. This is a easy class to do ok in (to get a B), but a tricky class to get an A, because you need 96%!

One of the worst professors I've had. Very boring. Reads from her notes through the whole class except for the review questions in the beginning of class. Think everyone taking this class is a philosophy major expecting everyone to do well since an A is a 96 in her class. Avoid her class at all …more costs. less

She is extremely nice and very clear. All you have to do is take notes during class and you will be fine. You don't have to read the text at all. I have only used it when writing essays and she only has a few which are pretty short. She's not super exciting or full of energy but she is always in a …more good mood and will enjoy her if you like philosophy less

My favorite philosophy teacher at CUA. You don't need to even read the assigned books because she explains everything in detail during lecture. She gives study guides for exams, though it is still a lot to memorize. She is very helpful and returns your emails right away!

Dr. Shaw is really good at explaining the materials. Her tests are not easy but not difficult. The issue with her tests is that the questions may seem not clear. She might ask you for something specific but in fact she wants you to answer everything that is related to the specific thing. At the end …more she's helpful and respectful and would take again. less

Really nice professor who is available outside of class for help. You don't need to read the texts if you pay attention in class and take extensive notes for the midterm/final. This class is so boring, which makes taking notes/paying attention hard. Also know that an A is a 96.
