Good speaker, very clear, interacts with students through engaging examples/debates, expects a lot from students but is fair. one of the best teachers i've had so far. be warned: he gives pop quizzes!

I graduated 2 years ago, but Dr. Doolan was my favorite prof at CUA. He is a clear, well-prepared teacher who gives you all the tools you need to do well in his class, you just have to choose to use them.

I had him as an undergrad and never got a chance to rate him. He is the best teacher I have ever encountered. He always made complex concepts clear. Class was never boring. I don't know where he is teaching now, but if you are lucky enough to have him as a prof, appreciate a good thing and study …more hard! less

THOROUGHLY UNREASONABLE GRADER. Doolan is one of those teachers that will give you an 80 on a test even though you answered every single question correctly; he loves to take points off for any reason he can. Aside from the unreasonable grading, the material is fascinating and presented …more effectively, so you'll never be bored in his class. less

grading is so ruthless that i'd never want to take another one of his courses. YOUR ESSAYS WILL BE MICROMANAGED so watch out.

I took Doolan for human nature. i worked my ass off and struggled. he is too particular with papers and a very hard grader. you must take excellent notes and study significantly to do well. you cant miss class or he penalizes you. i recommend: DO NOT TAKE IT

Cons: really tough grader. Pros: probably the best philosophy teacher I've had so far. Smart guy, knows his stuff, extremely organized, excellent teaching abilities, and very engaging. Highly recommended, but be prepared for some rough grading.

great teacher. very organized. explains things very well and is open to questions. LOVE his signature bow ties. haha only draw back is that he IS a bit of a tough grader. hard to get an A, but i easily got a B in the class. if youre interested in metaphysics, i recommend 305 with him if youre not …more concerned about having a perfect GPA. less
