Teached on a graduate level and would not accomodate to the fact that he was teaching undergrads. Very disappointing. But he is extremley knowledgable in his area of study.

Extremely knowledgeable and probably brilliant, but has a tendency to get off-topic. Very difficult class, made more difficult by his teaching style which would be better suited to a graduate-level course.

Challenging British professor, part of the old academic guard. Very knowledgable in his field. Will make you do research the old-fashioned way (actually going to the library). Overall, a great experience.

Rousseau is totally different from any other professor I've had. He expects you to do the learning on your own, and while at first that seems horrible, in the end you learn more valuable skills (researching) than if he had spoon fed you information to regurgitate on a test. Alot of reading and …more writing (very open prompts), no tests. Recommended! less

Worse class I had at Catholic. Professor is NEVER satisfied with the amount of work you do, I promise. Every student comment said in that class was utter ****, no one knew what he even wanted us to say. Expected us to have a huge background already on this topic which we did not. Take it if you …more want to write an 18 page final paper. less

Different style of teaching than most Professors. He teaches mostly Graduate students and it shows. His class is focused strongly on individual research. He will guide you to what you should look at, but he will not tell you the answer. No tests, but a lot of writing. All in all, a demanding …more teacher, but well worth taking. less

Brilliant man, but disorganized and unclear. Difficult course. I did learn a lot, but I often struggled just figuring out what to do. Very high expectations. My experience was made much better by the awesome TA Beth Ooi, who helped keep thing organized. Rousseau was responsive to our comments and …more the course improved somewhat over the semester. less
