Awful prof. A nice lady, and I can get used to the thick accent, but when it comes down to it, she can't teach. She's brilliant but unable to transfer any of her knowledge. And I agree: way too picky on papers.

Tells you to do one thing, and then when you do it marks you totally wrong on it. You have to be a total brown-nose to get by.

terrible teacher, had her for 101 as well unclear, boring, and borderline insane. Unfair grading on papers, and questions on the final were obscure. avoid like the plague

Wonderful teacher. Clear, helpful, made the course material very interesting. The only professor who could get me interested in philosophy. Get her, if at all possible.

Nice lady, but definitely has a few screws loose. She really is incredibly intelligent, and she knows what she's doing; however, she's just not meant to be a teacher. I do think people are a lot more critical of her than need be. It's possible to do well in her class - just participate, work …more hard, show interest. less

Class interesting and helpful to clarify readings. Prof maintains impressive enthusiasm throughout, and knows her subject very well. Unhealthy obsession with squirrels still alive and well.

Also had her for HSPH 101. Wonderful professor, wonderful personality. Easy to get to know. Only professor I've had who could spark my interest in philosophy. Generous with help and advice. Has a Belgian accent, not too thick, but some have found it distracting. Ask her about Ricky Bushytail...
