Very interesting, clear, scholarly. Expects a lot but is fair with work and grades.

I took his History of the Ancient Mediterranean as a first semester freshmen and I have to say that it is a tough but very interesting course. If you study hard and have a knack for remembering strange details, you'll do well. He's an amusing guy, too.

An Excellent Teacher! If you enjoy what the class is about, then you'll enjoy Dr. Klingshirn. He's very knowledgble and funny. Not too hard a grader either.

Cons: can be a bit dry, can be confusing, and is kind of hard to approach. Pros: knows the subject matter inside and out, conveys the material mostly well, and is a fair grader. And his sense of humor is pretty good. Recommended
