Her accent makes it hard to understand anything, it is almost frustrating. The way she explains things makes it unclear. Be in class to get notes.

The class is super easy and interesting. No hwk except 2 short essays (750 words minimum). You need to show up to get the notes. She's a little hard to understand but you get used to it. She is very nice and posts study guides. She also has 1 extra credit assignment. Overall she was a great teacher!

She's amazing. Extremely organized and approachable for help. She's transparent about syllabus changes and tests. There's an extra credit assignment, the papers are easy, and she helps you with the readings. Easily one of my favorite professors.

Her teaching style isn't meant for me I guess.i had 3 other classes that were more crucial to study for and her exams were ALWAYS right after the most important ones. So I didn't have time to studyfor this class. If you study then you'll get the A. I study day before exams and average a B. I don't …more recommend this class unless you got the time. less

Caie Yan is a great teacher. Although she has an asian accent, her lectures are basically everything you need to know for the exam. Just write down all her notes, and see her in office hours if you need to clarify something and the class is easy A. Textbook isn't something you need, but if you miss …more class then the text will help. less

Awesome professor, really enjoyed the subject material. The powerpoint lectures can be really long at times but overall she provides essential information and if you show up and pay attention the tests shouldn't be too difficult. Very generous extra credit opportunities. The 2 papers were basically …more the only homework she ever assigned less

Overall, professor Yan is very clear about what she expects of you. The lectures can be a bit long and uninteresting at times but as long as you come to class, take notes, and study a little bit you should do really well in the class. Only 3 exams. Few chances for extra credit. Interesting class!

Though her lectures were long as long as you show up and take notes, you should have no problems passing her exams. The only hw she had was two essays and both of them were short essays 3-5 pages double space. Just follow the study guide she has for exams and you should be fine. Tests are multiple …more choice. She allows extra credit. less

She is the nicest and most understanding teacher at SJSU. It could be hard to understand her accent at times, but her power points are ON POINT. She will only test you on class lecture material and study guide. She has no fuss, and does not give you a hard time, unlike other ANTH 140 professors. 4 …more movies responses and a paper, super easy grader! less
