If you like history than this class is for you. If not, then it is a good time to sleep or soemthing of that nature. It is amusing how genuinely interested he is in this course, but history does not interest me, so you can see the conflict of interest.

The class was based on the history of modern thought. The class was boring, because he isn't very interesting to listen to, however if the material was really interesting, easy to follow. He's not too hard on grading, as long as you used a lot of examples. Grade mainly based on 2 tests and 5 papers.

He has this interesting way of laughing at himself when he tries to joke. Something about naked cherubs & men along w/ baby Jesus's genitals make him chuckle at the art of them. Don't miss class. All your answers are in your notes! The reading is only important to get quotes for your essays.

All the answers are in the notes. He's very informative and I like him. Would take a class with him again. Put as much detail as possible in essays.

Energetic professor. Objective discussions, which could sometimes be full of ridicule and humor depending on the subject. Pure lecture. Interesting novels.

He is one of the best professors we have here on campus. Very energetic and excited about what he is teaching. I love the repetition of things that he does, it was very helpful for me to remember the material. If you talk to him, he will understand. So don't be afraid because he's a father.

He is smart, sweet and understanding. His lectures are pretty "old school" -- he doesn't encourage a lot of participation on the part of the student. He also expects you to regurgitate the information he provides on tests and in papers. His interpretation of historical events, characters …more and documents is often symplistic, though. less

I LOVED this class. I got SO much out of it, and tied it to my ENGL 110 class with Thiele. Do not take his class if you're a bad note-taker, if you tend to skip, or if you hate history! I easily got at least 5 pages of notes each classtime. He's wonderfully interesting, and VERY good at lecturing. …more I'd take it again, if I could. :) less
